Theta Alpha/Women's Guild, 1904-2016

Theta Alpha is an organization of women dedicated to furthering New Church education.  This is an international organization with local chapters.  In some cases, the local Women's Guild was incorporated into the organization.  In these cases, the Women's Guild records are included in this sub-collection. Two twenty-dollar Canadian bills were found in the collection and turned over to the current local treasurer.

Correspondence, research, minutes, agendas, presentations, papers and publications related to the Office of the Bishop.  Many papers are included for each particular minister from his career prior to election as bishop.  While bishops' papers are restricted, certain exceptions apply for documents such as sermons and doctrinal classes.

Tracing My Family's Roots: A Journey Through American History - The Powell Family, 2012

A genealogical history of Sallie Sook Joachim, beginning with her ancestors in the Powell family, including the prominent Swedenborgian minister, David Powell and then the first generation of the Sook family. Henry Leech Sook married two of David Powell's daughters in succession, the first dying unexpectedly at the age of 30.
